Our Artisan Collaborations
Handmade. Hand-sourced. One-of-a-kind.
At Leigh Taylor, we’re all about clothes with soul. Many of our pieces are made using hand-sourced artisan fabrics collected on my travels from the colourful markets of Guatemala to the textile workshops of India.
Every thread, mirror and motif has a story.
🇬🇹 Guatemala: Textiles with Tradition
In early 2025, I spent time in Guatemala meeting local weaving cooperatives and sourcing artisan fabrics directly from women-led collectives. The textiles I found were rich in colour, woven on backstrap looms using centuries-old techniques.
You’ll find these Guatemalan fabrics in our one-of-a-kind fleeces, all cut and sewn by hand in my UK studio. Each one is unique and made in small batches.
🇮🇳 India: Vintage Mirrorwork & Embroidered Treasures
Our mirrorwork jackets are crafted in India using vintage embroidered patches salvaged from traditional garments. Each piece is assembled by hand in collaboration with artisan tailors I’ve worked with over the years.
These jackets are full of texture, charm, and soul. Some show signs of wear little imperfections that tell the story of where they’ve been. No two are the same.
We also hand source vintage covers and rework them into fleece in our UK studio.
Slow Fashion with Soul
By sourcing materials from makers and markets around the world, Leigh Taylor creates small-run, one-of-a-kind pieces that celebrate craftsmanship, creativity, and global connection. It’s not just fashion, it’s storytelling in stitches.
